I was really surprised that even the weather in Chicago was good during my visit. Of course the day before and the day I left was rainy, but while I was there it was just perfect. Even the locals were looking at the sky with surprise! :) I had 9 rainy days since I left Switzerland. 5 of them were in Hawaii on the Big Island, where it's raining everyday anyway - exept when I was on the tours ;)

I'm at the Cappellino's now, my host-family during my exchange year! It's great to see them all again. Well, gat'a go...

Hawaii - It's about the lava and the waves!



Honolulu - Waikiki. The touristic site of Hawaii... crowded I tell you..



Hawaii - Downtown. The Main Island is just full with houses!



Big Island - Boiling Pots. I was swimming under this waterfalls!



Big Island - 4200 Meters above sea level, on very top of the BIGGEST mountain on earth!



Big Island - Somewhere in the cold lava. This is an 'dried' out lava float about 300 meters inside the mountain.



Big Island - unter the Hawai'i sky. The best place to have a look at the stars from the northern AND the southern hemisphere!



Big Island - On the HOT lava! This light grey lava is still flowing. My sausage was done in 30 sec!!

The pressure of the liquid, hot lava lifts up the already hard lava.

That would have been a bad place to be in 2003!
